How long have you been at Cagwin & Dorward?

I have been working at Cagwin & Dorward for 12 years. I began as a gardener, learned the trade in the field, and took classes to learn more that helped me earn a promotion to Associate Branch Manager.

What do you like about working at Cagwin & Dorward?

I like our teamwork, where everyone on the team has the same objective of performing quality work and providing excellent customer service to our clients.

Is there a dream role you aspire to achieve at Cagwin & Dorward?

I like taking things one day at a time, perfecting the role that I have now. I always love to learn, take on new responsibilities, and push myself to do things I’ve never done before, and when the opportunity for a promotion occurs, I will be ready for it.

When you are not working, what are you usually doing?

I love spending time with my wife and my four-year-old daughter. We enjoy going to the park, walking our dog, or going on a hike.

I also enjoy gardening at home, where I grow lots of peppers. I also enjoy riding my Triumph motorcycle and taking trips on my motorcycle.

Do you enjoy reading, and if so, what are you reading?

Yes, I like to read. Since I enjoy playing poker, I’m reading Cash Games by Dan Harrington.

Since I also like peppers, I’m reading a book about different types of chili peppers around the world and how to grow them.

Do you have a favorite food?

I like Chinese food. The Peking Palace restaurant in Napa was my favorite, but it closed for more tourist-oriented restaurants. Mandarin is another restaurant I like that I go to in Fairfield, but it’s not as good as Peking Palace was in its time.

Who are the mentors in your life?

I have two, my Dad and my brother.

My brother is three years older than me and has always been willing to give me advice. He has that little extra life experience that he passes down to me. The same for my Dad; he always gives me good advice and steers me in the right direction.

What would your friends tell me about you?

They would tell you that I’m the kind of person that likes to make people laugh and is personable.

If you could travel back in time, what one piece of advice would you give your younger self when you were starting out?

That’s easy! I would say, “Bronson, you need to buy bitcoin when it just comes into the market and buy a lot when it’s only $5 to $10 per share.”

What is your favorite movie?

I love The Godfather.

It’s your 95th birthday party, and your friends and family (who are still alive) are at the party; what will you say to them?

I’m ready to go! Truthfully, if I’m going to make it that long, I better start getting in shape. It’s a mindboggling question and I don’t know if I can think that far in advance.

What is the one thing most people don’t know about you?

I love going to the beach with my wife and daughter. My daughter has the biggest smile on her face when we go to the beach.

What I like about Cagwin is that we are passionate about what we do. We are employee and customer-centric. We are accountable, which boosts morale in the company, and we are a company with integrity. These are important to me.

What is a day in the life of Bronson?

On a typical working day, I lead by example at the branch I’m managing. I’m the first to arrive here in the morning at 5:30. I open the yard, answer emails, and have my to-do list that I begin working on, as well as make sure my account managers and crews are equipped with what they need to make our day successful.
