mycorrhize healthy trees

What are Mycorrhizae?

The word Mycorrhizae literally means fungus-root and defines the beneficial relationship between soil, fungi, and plant roots. The fungi attaches to the plant roots and uses very fine rootlets to spread througout the soil to access nutrients and water. The fungi draws the nutrients and water up into the plant roots making the nutrients available to both the fungi and the plant.

About 95% of the world's plants form Mycorrhizal relationships in their native habitats. It is estimated that Mycorrhizal fungal filaments explore hundreds to thousands more soil volume when compared to roots alone.

The Benefits of Mycorrhizae Include:

  • Improved nutrient and water uptake
  • improved root and plant growth
  • Improved disease resistance
  • Reduced stress from transplanting or drought
We offer Mycorrhizae treatments as part of our deep root fertilization program and as a seperate treatment.
